Chittagong Port Bay Terminal - One Stop Building
Project Overview
The One Stop Building at the Bay Terminal of Chittagong Port expresses a contemporary modular expression that reinterprets port architecture as an integrated civic and operational hub. The façade is articulated through a rhythmic grid of projecting cubic modules, evoking the stacked geometry of shipping containers while simultaneously creating depth, shading, and visual dynamism. Alternating solid, glazed, and green-filled modules introduce a layered environmental strategy—enhancing daylight control, natural ventilation, and biophilic integration within an otherwise industrial context. The elevated central void and exposed structural frame establish a grand, transparent entry axis, symbolizing openness and administrative accessibility. By merging industrial references with sustainable design elements and human-scaled terraces, the building transforms a functional port facility into a landmark that balances operational efficiency with architectural identity.
